Are your carers properly trained?
Everybody who joins our award-winning team completes our specialist care professional pathway which includes:
Online training – e-learning training where they evidence their theoretical knowledge
Face-to-face training – 4-day course with our in-house training team delivered both online (over video call) and at our local branch
Shadowing – ‘on-the-job’ shadowing of experienced members of our team in the community
Competency checks – to help ensure they have reached the required level of competency
Additional training – helpful courses in other significant areas that impact our clients’ health and well-being
We use a blend of training techniques to ensure our training is enjoyable and effective. Our care professionals not only learn all about how to support someone at home, including specialist aspects such as personal care, medication management, moving & handling and dementia care, but our programme also covers everything to ensure they achieve the national health and social care qualification – The Care Certificate.
Our training and support doesn’t stop once our care professionals have completed their induction programme. We have built a fantastic support structure to ensure that they receive the best levels of support possible in their role. This ranges from our online community, our 24/7 local on-call service, weekly support visits, staff reviews, 3-monthly supervision meetings, to annual appraisal meetings. Importantly, all of this support comes from our local care management team which is accessible 24/7.
